University of Bristol Expeditions Society

Welcome to the University of Bristol Expeditions Society

We are UBES: the largest, most active and possibly best outdoors society at Bristol University. We cater for anyone with an interest in the outdoors by running regular weekend walking trips, giving free climbing instruction, organising adventurous summer trips abroad and offering subsidised training opportunities. When you aren’t on the mountain, we have regular socials and other opportunities such as first aid and navigation training.

We aim to develop our members passion for the outdoors and support them as safe and independent mountaineers, whilst of course, providing maximum fun!

Interested? Take a look at our Blog, Facebook page, Forum and Twitter to find out some of the stuff we get up to.

We always have lots going on, so the best way to keep up to date is to join our mailing list or become a member! If you have any questions about anything we will be more than happy to answer them on ubes-committee@bristol.ac.uk.

If you want to meet us in person then pop along to the Highbury Vaults at 9:30pm on a Wednesday and look out for some friendly faces!

Want to find out more about what we do? Then watch our trailer below, or follow the links to "what we do" above!
