Expeditions 2010

Much planning and scheming has gone on and through a long and tough selection process our Expeditions Officers have decided on some Summer destinations for UBES to enjoy:

The Swiss Alps

Dates: Somewhere around the start of July for 2 weeks, TBA
Activities: Mountaineering, Walking, Climbing
Organiser: Clay and Ali

UBES will be going to Arolla in the Swiss Alps, to stay at the highest campsite in Europe at over 2000m. It is a great place to experience the Alps for the first time, there are numerous easy Alpine routes in the surrounding mountains, all within walking distance, so no expensive ski lifts! The mountains around Arolla are also much quieter than other Alpine resorts such as Chamonix or Zermatt.

There will be Alpine Mountaineering with glacier crossing, long walks with stunning scenery and nights spent in huts/bivvying.

HELLO BULGARIA LOVERS!

i know what your all thinking... 'When the fudge are we gonna go to
Bulgaria for cheap cheap mega stunning mountain times?'

Well, i have the answer, my little darlings.

I am flying out to Sofia from London Gatwick on Tuesday 31st August (take
off 5:55am), and back again on Thursday 9th September (take off 11:50) via
easyjet, and would l.o.v.e. some company.
The lucky airline is Easyjet. Once in Sofia (capital of bulgaria) we will
get the train toward the Rila Mountains (google it) where the fun shall
commence!
My tickets were £136.50 return and included a 20kg bag and booking fee.

What do you have to do now? Well...

GO TO: http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Booking.mvc
and book yourself on a flight! you'll need your passport details etc, so
get them to hand!
Remember, just because these are the dates i am going out, doesn't mean you
can't go earlier or stay longer! So go nuts!
Also, get booked quickly, whilst costs are still pretty low! When (and if)
you have booked, please just drop me an e-mail to let me know!

I have attached a copy of the presentation on Bulgaria again, please browse
until aroused! Once a few people have booked etc well then get on sorting
out the other details, but that is not imminent!
